Major problems....NEED HELP

Hey everyone,

Okay, first off let me say I have a 2006 F350 6.0 with 170,000 miles. Just bought it a few weeks ago so I don't know the history. The first couple of weeks I had it it ran fine, was a dog out of the hole but I figured it needed a good turbo cleaning. It has never black smoked while driving it that I have noticed. About 2 weeks after I got it I noticed some white smoke coming out of the exhaust when I first pulled out of the driveway. It would do it for about 3-4 seconds and then stop and never do it again. 2 days ago it started to black smoke quite a bit when taking off from a dead stop, both under light acceleration and under heavier acceleration, didn't matter. Obviously it would smoke a little more under heavier acceleration though. I drove it last night with no issues other than the black smoke. Late this morning I started it up and was going to let it warm up a few minutes before I took off (as I always do) and as I was sitting in it I noticed a lot of white smoke while it was idling. I push on the throttle a little bit and a lot more white smoke came out and it was running very rough. I put it in gear and it wouldn't even move. White smoke and just jerking quite a bit. Turned it off and came inside to post this. What do you guys think.....hopefully not head gaskets....can't afford that yet.

thanks

Chalk it up to yet another 6.0L that has puked an EGR cooler due to a restricted oil cooer. Replace both EGR and oil coolers and you're good to go. If you're still within your D.I.T. warranty, get yourself into your nearest Ford dealer to get it done ASAP.

It's out of warranty. I have been doing to research to replace this over the past week or so. Was planning on doing a cooler delete, new oil cooler, turbo clean, etc. Was also going to clean the EGR and intake of soot. I need some help on part numbers now for the following.

Turbo oil drain
Turbo oil feed
HPOP filter
Coolant filter

I know some of these items have had updated part numbers. Anything else I should update or change while I'm in there?

Wow that's great, thanks for all your help. Was going to pick up a coolant filter kit from Dieselsite, is that a good one?
