spark plug wires - "sixlitre" tune up

I have been doing some mods to my 89 f150 5.0 lately, saw the thread about the "sixlitre" tuneup on a bronco site and have got the remaining parts to follow it. I recently got some plug wires for it:
ACCEL 5056B - ACCEL SuperStock Spiral Core 5000 Series Spark Plug Wire Sets - Overview - SummitRacing.com

They are 8mm Accel superstock spiral core 5000 series. My question is, should I keep these wires or upgrade to these:

ACCEL 8854 - ACCEL 8.8mm Spiral Wire Sets - Overview - SummitRacing.com

They are 8.8mm Accel 8854 series. I guess this is a better question for a summit tech but is the extra $15 or so worth it? Will I see any performance gains? The reason I didn't get the accel 8854 is because I didn't see any specs about them at the auto parts store where I got them. Ideally I wanted the most bang for my buck, and I got $20 off my purchase so it made sense to opt for more expensive wires. My truck burned through the autolite professional series which were on there before, so I would just hate for it to burn through the next set.

Your Accel 5056B wire set should be fine for use with the sixlitre tuneup.

Funny, I was just looking at wiresets for mine. Accel has the 4000 series that runs about $15 cheaper for my application - 351. The difference seems to be that the 5000s are "spiral". Can anyone explain why spiral is better and if I would notice a difference? Thanks.

It's not worth changing at this point. Personally I'm hooked on Taylor wires because of their quality. Theoretically, the best wire is the one with the least resistance.

I have had good results with the Accel and Taylor spiral wound sets in my 302s and SBCs. Both were a step up from the stock wires and yes they were on sale. A couple of the GM vehicles also got Accel coils too. The Gm ignitions have given me more problems than the Fords (except for modules on a 83).
On my 300 an upgraded coil and Accel 5000s (or Taylor equal ) will find there way in before the snow flys. I can't positively say that the wires were better performing in my previous vehicles because they replaced worn sets and other things were changed out at the same time.
