Timing Belt

I have a 2001 F250 V10- 92K..... everything seems to be good with the motor but lately I hear a noise coming from what I think is the timing belt (I'm putting a piece of wood against it and trying to listen)- It's never been changed. how would I know if the belt is close to needing replacement? I do notice that as the truck warms up- I don't hear it as much- (maybe it's getting more oil?)

There's no timing belt in V10,you have 2 timing chains in it.
92K isn't too high of a milage for them to go bad, unless you used wrong oil or something.
What oil are you using?

Always use what the engine calls for- 5W/20 ever since I've owned it. And I'm always real good about changing it.

The only times I've heard anything go bad with the Ford modular timing chains is when someone hasn't changed the oil often, which could be the case if you haven't owned it all it's life.

What kind of noise? Clacking/ticking, whirring, what?

Sounds to me like you should pull off the serpentine belt and check the bearings in your idler and tensioner pulleys.

Now THAT is funny. I thought only JAP cars or rice rockets with little 4 bangers used timing belts, NOT big inch V8/V10 engines!!!!
