Redline capabilities

What is the capability of the 2 valve V10 redline? I had always heard the mod motors were high reving motors. I realize the motor is designed for a torque application. Would it work in other applications as well? I remember a V10 Mustang project, did this motor provide more HP and if so, was it a sacrifice of torque? Has anyone ever changed the cam specs on a V10?

The rpm limiter from the factory is set around 5300rpm. The powdered rods are the limiting factor at going much over that. Comp cams had a different cam available for the V10 years ago but they were fairly expensive and a special order item.

Thinking of souping up the van? I think they were custom grinds, so whatever you were after you work with comp to get a cam with the proper lift and duration for what you need.

No, I got a NPI V10 for next to nothing and was thinking of what it could do in my CVPI with headers, intake and cams. Problem is all 3 would have to be custom made, and I don't think I would be able to keep the wipers....
