I am sure that the solid front axle in the front of my 86' F350 is a Dana 60. Earlier today I noticed oil leaking out of the driver's side axle before the knuckle. I have read in my Haynes manual and in a post here that basically the whole axle and differential/ring gear have to come out to replace these simple seals.

Is this true and how hard is it to accomplish this task?

Make sure your vent tube isn't plugged up before tearing into it.
