Question 2004 F250 Diesel

I have a 2004 F250 Crew Cab Super Duty 4X4 Diesel with about 67,000 miles on it. When pulling a load (not anything heavy 16' trailer with 3 Four wheelers on it), up a hill, the engine seems to cough 5 to 7 times. This happens only when I have a load going up hills. Normal driving it does not happen. The Fuel filters were changes at about 32,000 miles, oil is changed when it is due, I don't drive it hard. Has anyone else had this problem? Some one said my EGR valve might need replacing? Any suggestions would be greatly appericated. Thanks Jimmy e-mail is dawslowpoke@bellsouth.net

possibly your egr just needs cleaning.(You should post this in the 6.0 section though.)

truck problem

Thanks for replying about the problem I am having with my truck, you are the only one that has replyed. Talking with a few people, they suggest replacing the egr instead of cleaning it. I am going to try that and see how it does. Thanks again, Jimmy

You need to drive it hard now and then to keep it running well.

Do what is called an Italian tuneup.

first put new fuel filters in the truck they need to be replaced every 15,000 it's a good chance your engine is starving for fuel
