Longevity test PSD vs. V10- Need 6.0L's
I'm a 7.3l guy who got involved in this long thread- https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...10-vs-psd.html People were arguing on repair cost & longevity issues, so we came up with a longevity test. We are planning on documenting all repair costs for our trucks along with fuel expense & mileage.
We planned to have 6 powerstrokes compared to 6 V10's. We already have 4 7.3L's looking for two relatively stock 6.0 liters. The information on this test will be in the last five pages of the above thread. If anybody is interested, please post in the thread linked above. First come, first recruited.

If you want a fair compare, ask a fleet manager that owns both and use it for comparable service.
You will be amazed at both ...
I have seen gassers do 800,000 miles with good maintenance, and diesels do 1 million miles plus..
On that note: I have a 5.4 gasser that have been hardly used, in storage for past few years.
Not even started up in nearly a year.
Guess what, started on first 10 seconds of cranking.. and ran fine.
