In all seriousness the "tent on top of the SUV" thing looks interesting, but I'd be very concerned about trouble in high winds. Many people are only interested in being outdoors in summertime, but those things look to me like a disaster in bad storm.
I've never seen one like this before, but my mother in law has a truck tent and has used it in some nasty weather with no issues. It's enclosed on the bottom and sides, so a completely different set up, but I imagine they wouldn't sell too many if people were getting blown off of their suv.
just flippin trough here and that tent is really sweet but would you happen to have some close up pictures of how it mounts to the drip rails? i got a safari rack for my f150 but i need mounts
Sorry, I haven't been around lately, will try to get some shots for you. Regarding wind, it hasn't been an issue so far, I feel more drag at highway speeds, but that's about it.

I happened to be cruising here and saw this tent setup. I have begun to equip my 86 with gutter mounts from Thule Part #542 allowing the use of a typical gutter mount system.
