Radio swap

Radio swap
I have a 2005 f150 lariat, the factory stereo is not set up for Sirius radio. My question is, is it possible to replace the stereo with a newer model factory radio that has a Sirius capability, and if so what years will work and what do I need to get to make the switch? Thank you

yep, grab any radio that has Sirius capability and you are good to go.
any radio from 04-08 will swap right into the truck. as well as any radio from a 2005-2009 Mustang/Expedition and a few other Fords.
I have a 2008 Expedition 6-disc radio sitting in my garage that I might consider selling. Don't know if it has Sirius capability though. My Expy doesn't have that option thankfully.
all of the radios are plug n' play. I'm pretty sure all you need for the swap is the sirius antenna and the radio itself

pictures don't really show it, but each dial has a chrome trim ring. pulled the radio at about 8,000 miles. worked great when I yanked it to install a JVC unit for the kids. Far as i can tell, no damage/scratches on any of the surfaces
don't think mine has the Sirius capability. the plugs are as follows from left to right: 3.5 input (iPod headphone jack), speakers, steeringwheel controls/power
what is a fair price on these? do I get extra since my wifes Fergie CD is still in there?
if interested, lets take it to PM

I'm pretty sure you can't. I know there's an Aux button on the radio, but there is no aux plug on some models (like mine). I have XM in mine and am having a lot of trouble getting a good carrier FM station to work with the XM. Best Buy has a cable that overrides the FM antenna when the power is on the XM unit. The cable runs about $30, I'll post the results when I get it done.

Here are a few things you might want to consider. Go to Car radio, auto radio, automobile radios, factory radios, delco radio, ford factory radio, search for your particular vehicle, purchase and install the aux input adapter behind your radio. The aux adapters aren't cheap, but cheaper than this alternative, which I preferred to go, by purchasing a new Ford Radio for my '04 F-150 at the same website under the "FACTORY OEM Ford Radios". I bought the 6l3t-18c868 am/fm/cd/cassette radio and swapped it out with the cd-only radio (fully swappable) then bought one of those cassette adapters that have a cable with the 1/8" plug and ran it to my XM-Express satellite receiver. I also have XM built-in to my Tahoe's Factory Radio and the XM-Express displays much more on it's screen than the "one-line-at-a-time display on factory radios. Plus, the new radio with cassette gives me the capability to listen to my "once obsoleted" cassette tapes. It's a more expensive route to take but that's just me. I also installed a two-way switch to switch between the XM-Express and my I-pod. This website is a gold mine of stuff and even includes the Factory Satellite Radio kit that you might want to consider. Good-bye to "searching for an open FM channel" blues forever!
