Okay guys I have the fuel bowl off and I have the directions on removing the hpop from diesel orings .com but I'm not realy under standing what its saying I have the reservoir drained what do I need to do after I remove the oil out of the reservoir ?
If you have the oil lines disconnected and IPR unplugged you need to take the cover off the front of the res. and remove the bolt from the gear. IIRC it is a 17mm. Then you can simply loosen the bolts on the front of the res. that attach the pump and it should come out.
I may be missing something, but that is how I recall to do it.
Where exactly are you at? You've got the fuel bowl off and some oil drained out. Have you disconnected the hoses? Did you pull the IPR? Did you remove the top part of the HPOP reservoir? Did you pull the diamond plate cover off the front of the motor? Do you have any idea what I'm talking about?
Tell us how much you understand and we'll come up with directions or pictures that make sense to get you through this.

Okay the two discharge hoses on the driver side are off
what and were is the IPR ? Is it the brass plated looking thing coming off the back kind of on the bottom of the hpop kind of under the two discharge ports ?

Sorry I don't have a pc so I can't look at PDF's I'm on a black berry
Yes it is. The bolt behind it ts 17 mm and torques to 95 ft. lbs. when you replace it so it's a bitch to get off. There are 2 10mm bolts holding the HPOP to the oil resevoire. one you can see, the other is on the bottom, near the valley. You'll have to feel for it and use an extension to get it loose.
I found it much easier to remove the sensor and hose to get the socket on the 17mm bolt that holds the gear in place. Plus my hands just wouldn't fit down there without taking lots of skin off my knuckles from the radiater fins.
How do I get the top of the reservoir off the torx head bolts and the four or five long hex heads ?
I just don't won't to mess any thing up guys so I'm asking before doing

I hear ya man that's why I asked cause I got some paws
Am I going to run into other problems opening the cooling system on this truck?
When I did mine ( about 4 times... long story) I didn't remove the resevoir at all. I just loosened the gear drive bolt and VERY carefull removed it through the front cover DON'T DROP THE BOLT INTO THE ENGINE!!!! Then removed the 2 10mm bolts from the back ...and voila!!
