Im trying to find info on axle codes and how to read them. I have 78 F250 with an axle code of "371"

The first two digits of the AXLE code found on the Warranty Plate refer to the rear axle: 37 = Dana 60 / 3.54-1 / non Limited Slip / 5300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.
The third digit refers to the front axle, but there is no #1 listed in the parts catalog. Look again...it could be the letter I
If it is an I = Dana 60 Front Driving Axle with Adjustable Steering Column (Tilt Wheel).
