1997 Ford f350 7.3 cranks but wont start

I have a 1997 Ford f350 7.3. It has been down for about 2 months. My fiance at the time was driving it and she said that it was running fine then just died. at first I had no idea what the issue was. Then upon further looking i noticed that my chip was only plugged in half way. I believe I have narrowed it down to the injectors not getting fuel. As the fuel bowl continues to fill but the truck will not run. I have tried starting it with starting fluid. And it runs off that. But it will not stay running. Any help is greatly appreciated

Stop the drugs (starting fluid) unless you disable the glow plugs. Unless you want bent rods.

Do you have a wait to start light when you turn the key to run? If not check fuse #22 in the under hood fuse panel. If it is blown, unplug the fuel bowl heater and replace the fuse. Also check fuse #8.

- Don't. Real answer, not being a smartass or anything. Wait to start light and check engine light are clues. Tach moving is another clue. Smoke out the exhaust is another. OBDII has codes for bad pcm also.

Get the No Start Flowchart from the FAQ and follow it. It has links to help.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ostic-faq.html

You need an OBDII adapter (SAE j1850 PWM) and pressure gauges for the fuel pressure and HPOP pressure to diagnose this engine without wasting time and money. After much starting fluid you should probably compression check it first. Apologies if it sounds mean, not meant that way.

Is this why you think the PCM might be blown?

Look at the chart and ask more questions. Good luck.
