carburetor is shot on my f-250 auto 4x2 351. the current carb tag says et1e-cha. planning on buying a new one, was wondering what the best carb to buy for the best gas milage?

i have, but im kinda slow with the whole engine thing. specially with big complicated looking things such as the carb . so i figured i can get it rebuilt by someone else for around 200-300 or i can get a new one for the same general price. so was just wondering which one i should get seeing as im slow and all

 

iamme9182, A Motorcraft 2 bbl is pretty simple to work on. I assume that is what you have, since you did not say.

If you are intimidated by carb work, don't be. Get a good kit, take your time and follow the instructions. Replace the float always.

Get it good and clean also.

Usually a kit will help, unless the throttle shaft is worn.
