Body part interchangeability!

Body part interchangeability!
Will doors from a 91 F250 fit on an 85 F250. I found a guy parting out a truck and wants $25 each for doors with power locks and windows! If not can the inside guts be used in an 85 door! I cant beat the price. Also the donor truck is an extended cab, will the front seats and console bolt up as well.

The door panels will also interchange as well as all the internal parts if they are done as sets. In other words some parts won't interchange without others being replaced at the same time.
Otherwise they are the same door with minor cosmetic differences. 1980-1996/97 and 1980-1999: F-600/F-900

The difference in the vent window is in the vertical bar.On 80-86 trucks, the bar is smaller than 87-91.This means that an 87-91 door glass is smaller in width than the 80-86 door glass. Also, the 92-96 vent window is different than 80-91.It has a section cut out of the glass to accommodate the dash sticking out further.Without this section cut out,the vent window would hit the dash.
Don't quote me on the 80-86 dates, because i'm not sure when Ford switched to the smaller door glass. My 80 has the smaller vertical bar vent windows, and when I replaced the door glass with one from an 88 F250,I found out the difference. The window is smaller,so it moves back and forth in the channel.

The door shell itself remained virtually identical.
So with that information, you can swap out the vent window for a 1987-1991 as well and then the glass will work.

But then it won't match.I'll eventually either find another 80-86 glass,or since my vent windows are getting rusty,I might upgrade to 87-91 Vent Windows and door glass.

From what I seen on my 84,89 and a 90, the doors are the same for mounting window regs, you can keep the your 86 wide widow with narrow vent frame and be able to use the 88 power window reg. You will have to use diffrent bolt holes which should be already in your 86 door. And use only 1/4 inch long 7/16's bolts to hold it together(or rivits if you want) to clear the crank arms.
One thing that will make swapping out window regs easyer is loosen(or remove) the vent window and track, that will give you MUCH more room to move that pig of a power window motor assy around!
