'50 F-1 Transmission Cover

'50 F-1 Transmission Cover
Can someone send me or post a picture of the transmission cover for a '50 F-1? I pulled the one off the F-1 I'm restoring and it looks like it has been
modified behind the gas petal. I suspect the previous owner had a problem
with the gas linkage and cut a retangular opening in the cover. My truck has a 4 speed floor shift.
Thanks

It's entirely possible the cover has been modified. My truck originally had a 226 IL 6 as built. When I re-engined with the 390, I swapped out the firewall mounted throttle assembly with one for a 239 flathead V8.
In order to make it fit, I had to cut a notch lower into the transmission cover to allow for the amount of swing on it. I don't know if that is normal (the two throttle assemblies are different and maybe the transmission covers were built to compensate for that - I'm not sure).
But I can certainly understand why it may have been done!

I have looked in many of the parts dealers' catalogs and they show drawings and not pictures so I still do not know what the actual unmodified cover should look like. The engine is an original flat head V8 (could have been swapped but it is at least a typical flat head) and the linkage for the gas would imply there should be some type of hole in the transmission cover but mine has at least a 2" rectangle cut from the cover that does not look to be original.

A cover for an F1 has a round hole in the middle for the floor shifter or NOT for later column shifted trucks.
The accel pedal mounted to the left side just about where the bend is and has only screw holes for the pan-head sheetmetal screws.
There is a small oblong 1/2" hole at the top of the cover where the accel rod comes thru to contact the top of the pedal.
The only other variation was for F2 and larger trucks with a trans mounted emergency brake. There will be an extra hole to the right of the floor shifter where the e-brake handle comes thru.

There are two pictures in this post: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-progress.html
Here's one from a 49 Panel (same as the truck) without a column shift as in later 51/52 models.
