New (different) tires on 03 SD's????
Ever since the whole firestone thing came out, everyone seems to be dumping their factory mounted firstones for pennies on the dollar. Works out great for me, i picked up a new set of steeltex AT s for $50 from a guy that was afraid to keep them. You guys just keep thinking they are junk, and ill continue buying them from ya. I would hate to think of how many hundreds of thousands of miles i have driven on firestones without a blow out. Anyone can blow a improperly inflated tire.
As far as you calling some tires mushy, you have to compare sidewall ratings. Theres no way a 6 ply will ever compare to the stiffness of a 10 ply tire. I have a feeling youre comparing apples to oranges.
"Its the tires fault that i cant maintain proper pressure, or have the skill to control my vehicle." I only hope that nobody here ever said anything like that unless they were making fun of someone else.

I don't particularly like GoodYear or General either, -but like TW said... It all depends on "how you intend to use them."
I sure do appreciate you boys providing me with those "deals" on tires. I laugh all the way to the bank!
As far as the 8 v 10 ply deal... Are those "ratings" or actual construction? What are the other materials in the sidewall and what is the configuration? What were the tires constructed for... There are too many variables for direct comparison, and all to often it gets down to "apples and oranges".
My first set of F-Stones were the 500's that gave me almost 50,000 miles before they were replaced with 721's (for free). Good mileage back in those days when 30,000 was considered good and Michelin were giving up to 50,000... I saw a lot of Michelin's fail just like the 500's did but they did not get a recall. -PolyTicks!
