question about icon 4.5" lift (05+)

Ok, the icon 4.5" kit comes with an adjustable track bar (no drop bracket) and does not include a drop pitman arm. Is there no pitman arm because of the adjustable track bar with no no drop bracket so it keeps the track bar and drag link as close to parallel as possible? Would the stock steering stabilizer have to go because the draglink is more vertical?

Typically you would find or should find a drop pitman arm for "over" a 3" lift. I spent some time a while back researching this question and found this to be true in most all cases. Some may argue the fact that their not using one and don't have a problem without it. That may very well be true. Time will tell though. The intent is to have the track bar close to parallel with the drag link as possible as you mentioned. Although making the track bar parrallel with the drag link is what you want to achieve, you can stress the angle of the draglink at some point. I believe in piece of mind here regardless of cost. Investigate and research your options and whats available for your specific application.

Keep in mind Icon doesn't just fabricate their lifts for the sake of fabricating for glamorous mall cruisers. They design and build these lifts through plenty of R&D for the Baja 500, just give them a call and ask why no dropped pitman.

Yeah there's no drop pitman arm or trackbar drop bracket.

Not necessary with the adj. track bar. I have the DR/Icon 4.5" kit on my truck and think it handles better than stock.
