Have any of you ever measured your fender height? I got to noticing my truck sits considerably lower in the front than the rear so I took a few measurements to find the front fender sits 38 inches from the floor and the rear sits 42 inches from the floor. Which of these sounds off? considering my truck had 265-75-16's on it when I measured it.
Is my (99 f250 super duty) truck sitting high in the rear or low in the front? Or is this common?
It is common. Leveling kits are popular to lift your front up a few inches to match the rear.
I think this was designed originally so the truck would sit more or less level when you're towing. Depending on the year and spring combinations that the truck came with, on some trucks it is more noticeable.
I am reading 2-2.5 inches is common but mine sits 4 inches lower.... Mine is a 4x4 and was used to pull a goose neck trailer so I was assuming they may have done some thing to lift the rear so when loaded it road level. Or possibly my front springs are weak and that is accounting for the extra drop, I think I am going to get a kit from rough country with new springs, shocks, and u-bolts for the front to see if it fixes the problem.
Have any of you ever measured your fender height? I measure mine from the center of each fender and found 42 inches in the rear and 38 in the front.
Can one of you measure yours? to see if the 42 is common or high... and to see if the 38 is common or high...
I took measurements of my '03 F250 before I installed a 4" lift. The front measured 38-3/4 and the rear measured 40-1/2".
Now that it is lifted it sits level; makes sense as the kit came with 2-1/2" lift blocks for the rear.
From what you are saying my rear sounds like it is a little high.
My truck has 5 leaves in the rear 4 bundled together in a pack and one larger flat leaf below them. Mine also has a nearly 4 inch block, is this the common setup?
