Our rescue truck at work has one, you have to press the parking break in on an automatic before it will activate any type of high idle. I think a 6 speed has to be in neutral with the parking brake pushed in...ours is automatic. I usually use the Battery Charge protect on a emergency scene since I'm running all the lights and such. Note that the PTO high idle locks the torque converter so the engine will burn a little more fuel using it than BCP. When I did the high idle mod on my 06 personal truck I hooked it to BCP because I didn't want the converter to lock. I can't remember what other features it has I'll have to check the one out at work tommorrow, I think primarily it's an high idle control box. BTW USAF Rescue Truck.
