**96' F150 4L-4H isuses**

Hey guys, haven't posted much but i just picked up a 96 f150 4x4 with the 351w and and could use some ideas.
When i got it the front right steering joint was shot and ruined the axle shafts, it had no caps on the hubs and no hubs, i picked up a front end from the bone yard for $200 with warn premium hubs and swapped everything over(installed all new u-joints).
4x4 works great but now the linkage is so corroded the 4x4 lever wont push down, so i cant get N or 4L, i took the inside boot off and sprayed wd40 in the housing but i can only get it to go up and down with a hammer.
Has this ever happend to anyone???
Any ways to free it up better or should i attempt to find/install a new one?
Thanks for any help, ill go take some pictures and post them in a minute.

just cut the notches off of that plate so you dont have to push it down?, i forgot what that plate is called now

that or grab one from a junkyard that works

or just keep soaking in PB blaster or something, wd40 does not work well for that stuff, grab something better and soak it until something happens

thats about all ya can do

i suggest getting one from a junkyard and from the looks of it you can make those greasable pretty easily, tear it down make it greasable, then when you put it in you dont have to worry about this happening again, as long as you keep it greased

First take the linkage off the trans so you don't break something hammering on it, and then take it all apart, clean and lubricate, and put it back on.

Mine was all rusty...I pushed it down so it cleared the notch..spun the shaft so the pin rested below the notch..and re-aligned the pinch clamp for the shifter. perma-pushed down, but I haven't had any problems with it.
