Help for F-150 sound
Well I have a dumped magnaflow on my truck and it just is not loud enough for me.
Is their anything I can do to make it louder or will just buying a true Dual
Flowmaster 40 series be the best bet? How much would the muffler and installation cost me around 200.00?
Any other suggestions my truck is a F-150 excab 4wd with a leveling kit and black brush guard and i want it to sound mean.

Bad advise. You could try using the glasspacks instead of the Flowmaster, but leave the cats alone. Contrary to what many users here say, eliminating or messing with the cats is far more trouble than it is worth. Some users are just going for the sound, which it will give you, but often at the cost of real world performance. Sure they will claim that they run better without them, but dyno tests often contradict that. The CEL will come on if you eliminate them, plus it is illegal, and it can make it harder to sell the truck, depending on who you are selling it too. If you have to pass emissions that further complicates thing. And one point these guys ignore is that cats are not invented and used to save the environment or any of that green crap. They were invented to eliminate the toxic gases that come out that tailpipe. My brother nearly died from carbon monoxide poisoning from a vehicle. Over 3,000 people die each year in this country alone from carbon monoxide poisoning, most of which comes from vehicle sources. And those are only deaths, up to 10,000 people per year check into the hospital from carbon monoxide poisoning, mostly from vehicular sources. The catalytic converter takes these waste byproducts and burns them completely, in the process producing heat which causes the exhaust to heat up, expand and pick up speed in the exhaust. This helps more complete scavenge the cylinders and that means more fresh air can enter the engine, and that my friend translates to more torque and power.
Now there are cats you can use that will deliver more sound without compromising their function, but there are tradeoffs. Real high flow converters are much more expensive than regular converters. But they will increase the sound levels dramatically. I just heard a Porsche yesterday that had its converter replaced with Eastern Tru-Performance cats, and dang that thing was mean sounding. It still had the stock mufflers but it could just blast out sound.

Well i asking the same thing or almost on my truck 4.9L 300i, and i have flowmaster, a lot of my family have that and it sounds good, but on my truck its like quite, and i keep reading is for me to drop both cats since they are silenciers, and put a new high flow cat that this pass for inspecion, and if you go with single go 3'in out, or dual go with 2.5'in.or for me to connect a y pipe to a one hole cat.
i still haven't done it to my truck, but i am looking around where to drop both my cats, and put a new one. just a thought.
