auto locking hub issue

97 F-350 4-door 4x4 7.3 diesel non-dually, my auto locking hubs are engaging and disengaging as they please, mostly during a slowdown. I dont have the money for the warns yet and I want to be able to drive my truck without this problem until I get the money up, any suggestions??

Take them apart if you can and make sure whoever did your last brake job put them back together right.

If all the parts are there and in good shape then clean off all the excess grease really good and just dip the parts in gear oil. I've been doing it for years like this and they really work good.
