Anyone know what kind of wheels might be on a older Louisville tandem axle?
I think its in the late 80's.
Im going to pick it up and it has 2 flats so I want to take spares with me.

What do you know about batteries for it?
Im having a hard time getting it going?
I know the batteries are shot as they look old , ones a big battery and the others just a normal pickup battery.
Do i need 2 of those big ones?

+ to - to +? Reads to me like you have a 24 volt system? I hate that setup.

Yank the S/P switch. Yank the starter and install a 42 MT in it.

Toss those batteries, and get 4 "31-ECL" Interstate batteries. Hook them up parallel. Make sure the cables and cable ends are clean. Clean the connections at the starter and alternator. 4 new Interstates will crank over pretty much anything.

Unless you're running 6 volt batteries. In that case, yank them too, yank the s/p switch, toss the batteries, and get new 12 volt batteries.

Best I remember the 8-71s came with a single 12v battery,3 30 or 31 series batteries should start it fine

S/P switch =series/parallel switch which you shoundn't have
42 MT is series/size of starter which you should already have

Check for tags on alternator and starter they should both be 12V
