So I get up on a cold humid morning in reno and turn my truck on to discover a buzz noise when the GPR engages. Started the truck to find out it is taking a little more cranking time to fire. so a week goes by and the buzz is still there and now when i try to start the truck it will not start. Replaced the relay and still does the noise and now my batteries are drained. Any ideas? FYI '97 F250 PSD

 

Maybe the batteries are weak, or need replacing, have them load tested at most any auto parts store.

 

I'd also check your charging system, sounds like your battery cables may be either loose/dirty or rotted thru and your not getting enough power. Also check the starter relay on the fender well..

 

well did the battery cleaning and the buzz is still there so i did a resistance check and found out all my plugs have 8 ohms of resistance. what does this mean? do i change my plugs or is it something in the UV harness? Also i noticed while checking the grounds on the engine from the batts, that the ground strap from the engine to the frame isn't there. is this something i need?
