We have a 1979 4x4 with a 351C 2v. We have been looking for headers, but have not had any luck. The deck height on a Cleveland is about 1" lower than a 351/400 so without modification they will not work. Does anyone have an idea??? With out spending mucho $$$$$

 

Well its been many yrs ago. But if I remember correctly we used a set of 351m headers inside the frame. But the front driveline was in the way. So we had to heat up the headers and bend so the headers would clear. This truck had a 6" lift and helped a little on clearance of driveline. This isn't the prefered method but when changing engines these things happen. Maybe a set of outside frame headers might clear? Ran them on same truck but with 351m/400. here is a part number for a headman header 89360 400 ford f-250 but can't find the 1/2 ton number. This will get you possibly headed in the right direction. Good luck and the cleveland we had was 11to 1 comp and ran really well with 268 comp cam hyd. Good luck and check with headman headers.
