1963 F600 Brake Help
Hi,
I am a part of an auto shop on campus, and we have a 63 f600 tht we drive around campus and show off at school functions, recently the brakes went out of it. All of the fluid had leaked out of the system. First I rebuilt all of the wheel cylinders. When I pulled apart the front wheel cylinders they were completley dry inside! I the traced the lines and found that the front brake lines had been cut and do not look like they have been hooked up for some time. The line going to the rear axle was plumbed directly into the output of hydravac booster under the cab. How are the front brakes supposed to be connected to the system? Is there some type of proportioning valve that needs to be installed? Or do I just need to get a distribution block to hook all of the lines to.
Thanks,
Nathan

Nothin! it just sits in my yard taking up space... i got a real good deal on it so, i bought it
68 f600 power steering (which is nice!) 460, np435 4 spd.... well used bent to hell flat bed. i had someone intrested in it, the guy came over and got it running for me! lol, but then did not buy it. the brake system needs help, hydrovac system, carb rebuilt, things like that. i filled the master and they work , well kinda.

Cool, nice thing about having that 460 in there, aside from having some power, is there is plenty of good runners for out there for cheap should you ever need one.
Find a rusted out non running junker with a flatbed dump for scrap price, Then that truck will be the handiest thing you ever had
Those look like Armstrong Tru Tracks on the your Jeep, I haven't seen those in about 20 years.
I have a Jeep two

it started life as a dump bed truck... but all that is gone
The only reason i bought the ****** wagon was to get the rebuilt 65 vintage 289 it came with and yea they were Armstrong tires, i sold the wagon for twice what i paid for it and kept the engine.
OK back to the thread... any luck Nathan?

Your truck has a single master cylinder, so there is no proportioning valve.
With the system you have, one steel line feeds off the master cylinder, goes to a T fitting, where three steel lines attach.
One steel line goes towards the rear, one each goes towards the right & left front wheel cylinders.
Between the steel lines and the front wheel cylinders are flexible rubber hoses. There are TWO different lengths.
2) B7Q2078A .. R/L Front Brake Hose / 21 15/16" long / Obsolete
Fits: 1963 F600 before serial number 340,001.
---------------------------------------------
2) C3TZ2078C .. R/L Front Brake Hose / 23 1/4" long / Obsolete
Fits: 1963 F600 from serial number 340,001.
The serial number is the last six digits of the VIN.
While the hoses are obsolete, I found 27 of B7Q2078A & 12 of C3TZ2078C
All I need to know is which length you need, then I will list the sources.
