need to install header panel, and some other stuff

I'm rebuilding my salvaged 2000 f250. The left front was smashed pretty bad. Frame shop got the front frame arms straightened out, but now I need to put it back together. I got a new fiberglass header, but am not sure how to line it up properly. Any advice?

A couple more things: there is a large wire loom right under the air cleaner. Three connectors split off - one I cant track down, but it's connected. One goes into the air box, and one is just hanging there. Anyone know what this might go to? See the second pic attached. It's kind of oval, with yellow in the middle and red around the yellow. It splits off very near the lt front shock.

There is also a sensor of some type (first picture) that was connected to the frame/support in front of the radiator. What does this do, and where does it attach? The connector was pretty smashed in the accident. I'm thinking it's connects to the headlight loom, since I can't account for two wires from the left headlight loom. Thanks for any help. Hoping to get the truck together and on the road next week. Darn, looks like I can't do attachments at this site, but they are picture 2 and picture three in my gallery album f250.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

I would assume by your wheels and paint job you have a Lariat. That means you have the overhead temperature display. So the sensor in the picture is the temp sensor for the display. I believe those were attached to the header panel somewhere.

The other connector is probably for the brake pressure sensor on the master cylinder. Look and see if you have a round sensor on the master cylinder with no plug on it.

Looks good so far!

Oh, the header panel I didn't think had an adjustment, it is aligned by the bolts on each end to the fender/core support. The alignment of those areas is important to get the header right and square.

Aldrigec - thanks for the input. I found the wire connector to the brake master cyclinder, that's still plugged in, so is not my mystery connector. This connector comes out of the loom about 3 inches (engine side) before the master cylinder and airbox connectors split off. Any other ideas?

The temp sensor makes sense - and yes, mine is a lariat, although the overhead display doesn't work. I'll get to that after i get the truck back on the road.

I'll install the fender, the line up the header panel. Thanks for that info.

Anyone know about my mystery connector off the headlight loom, under the air box? Not the airbox or the master cylinder connector.

EDIT - a friend helped look over the truck and we found a silver round cylinder attached to the front (engine side) of the master cylinder that looked to have broken connector. The air box has a whole in it from hitting the master cylinder in the accident, so I assume this part broke off and is gone. Any idea what attaches here? I read about f150 trucks having a cruise control related part on the end of the master cylinder. Is that the same on f250?

Thx

Thx

If your truck has Daytime Running Lights, the resistor was mounted on the header panel near the driver's side battery. It would have two wires to it. Yellow/Black and Orange/Light Green.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. that is a part that is under recall anyway, so no great loss fixing it and you may be able to get it done free.

Thanks Aldrigec - I pulled the numbers off the part and found that it's the recall part. I'll go to Ford tomorrow.

Thanks for the help. See my next post for my ongoing saga!

Got the truck back together last winter and it's been a great truck - still got a dented hood and a primered fender, but mechanically no issues. Good luck on your rebuild.
