Intake Runner Help

I have a 97 f150 4.2l and i need to do an intake runner anyone have any experience with this? How hard is it to do?

You cant "do" a runner? What do you mean exactly? 9 outta 10 the little plastic clip that holds the linkage on either side in place. One of mine went kaput and I had to repair it. In order to do so you will have to remove the upper intake from the engine. This is not a hard job and you dont even have to remove much. Just unplug your coil wires, the tube at the underside that ties the TB to the intake manfold, unplug your air tube, and bam, the sucker lifts off.

You'll be looking at the Intake Runner valves on either side and you can reach the linkages and servo there. The little clips you can get from autozone in the help section. Unfortunatley you have to buy a box of them. Be sure to put a dab of neverseez on the pivot points!

its part of the upper manifold then?

No it's part of the lower intake manifold. You must remove the upper to be able to reach it. If you run into trouble I will go and pull my intake and take some pics of mine.

Oh, and some folks will tell you that you need to drain your coolant, this is a lie.

hi, my 97 is vacuum operated if yours is the same check for split hoses, leaks etc. bokker.
