Best glow plugs

Ive been having alot of trouble starting my truck, at first we thought it was the batteries or my starter. Come to find out its most likely my glow plugs. I was wondering what the best glowplugs would be for my truck. 1994 F-250 7.3 IDI N/A.

Also, ever since its gotten really cold, my fuel mileage has gone down the drain, i used to get around 22mpg, now im getting around 16. Is it the cold, or could it be my glow plugs causing the problem too, since it takes about 10 minutes to start my truck in 30* weather.

Mororcraft beru plugs.
GP's are not hurting your mileage but we all tend to idle them more and the winter blend fuel has less btu's so you get less mileage.

thanks for the help man. I was wondering, cuz i dont black smoke as much anymore. Probably cuz of the different mix of fuel. Yeah im testing my GPs tomorrow. My buddy whos got a 99 f350 said my GPs were causing my starting problem. So we'll test them tomorrow.

You can get them from ford, or you can search online. There are places you can get them for $9.99 each.

agree.
your looking for motorcraft glow plugs part #ZD-9 for your 7.3l(their made in Germany by Beru)
p.s. not sure how your going to test them but the test light method is not the best.it can find the totally dead ones, but can't find the ones with too high of resistance like a good meter will.just fyi.

I've always tested mine with a multi meter and always found the dead ones without a problem. Worked on checking them on Ford 6.9, Isuzu 2.2 and VW 1.6.

yeah i found the two dead ones no problem.but the other 6 that lite up with the test light still where not good enough.i didnt have a meter that could read ohms this low,so i just replaced the other 6 (cheaper than buying a meter that would) and she fires up like it should.i do read this is quite rare tho,to have them lite up still, and not be good enough.

I got mine at Shucks/O'rielly for 11.49 and they had them in stock. My favorite local shop had them for 10.99 but was out of stock. You can save a bit by purchasing online but you will lose it in the shipping... not to mention waiting for them. They seem like a pretty common part for most parts houses to carry.
