Rack Extension

I bought a kit from fatman back in August, finally did the install Friday. When I got ready to do the rack extension, the directions said there may be a jam nut, if so find the "x" marked on it and drill out the pin. I don't see an "x", but I do see what looks like a pin. There are two small holes on a big nut, one of them has a pin down in it. Is this the pin I need to drill out? Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

You say you got ready to "do" the rack extension....do you mean attach it to the rack? I have had a couple of TCI racks and a Summit one and they never had a jam nut pin.

Yep, I have a Hedits instruction sheet but I have to find it, and there in lies the problem, I can’t remember where I put it, I will post today as soon as I can find it.

I think some instruction sheets are on line at the manufactures.

I didnt have one on mine just thread locker but it did have the 2 holes you were talking about. Funny thing is once i put the extentions on i still cut like a half of a inch off each side because they ended up being way to long.

ive done two of these racks the roll pin is actually coiled steel. if you use a open end wrench with the pin in the opening you can just back it out. as it turns unless some one replaced it with spring pin. look at the end you can tell what type it is

Good pipe wrench, strap the rack to a bench, and turn. They said it would shear the pin right off.
