Fuel filter oring?

I was wondering if anyone could help here? On a new filter, what way does the beveled oring face? Flat towards the lid or bowl? It is a Napa brand filter and in the past they have had the instructions wrong. I just want to make sure before I do it wrong. Thanks

Thanks that is the way I got it. It did leak at first But I was able to get it tighter and stop it from leaking.

I always sink the seals in the fuel I drained out and then install and never a leak. Glad you got it to quit leaking.
