First Model T factory pickup = 1925, previous years were all conversions.

First factory pickup of any kind = 1924 Dodge 3/4 ton Express.

1953/79 Flareside rear fenders are essentially the same, as 1953/56's BAAA16312A/13A's were replaced by 1957's B7C16312A/13A's which were used thru 1979.

btw: A Stepside is a Chevrolet/GMC. Correct Ford terminology: Flareside / A Fleetside is a Chevrolet/GMC. Correct Ford terminology: Styleside.

Are we talking strictly Ford for classing break? IMHO Fat Fenders ended when the hood top became the same height as the fender tops and flowed from side to side. I believe that may have been different years for different makes. Again IMHO the earlier years should be broken into prewar to separate from the FF era. During WW2 there were scrap metal drives and when production resumed after WW2 the manufacturers used gov incentives and demand for "new" to completely redesign and adopt technology learned producing war machines.

The Marshall Plan rebuilt war ravaged factories throughout Europe & Japan.

How much money did US automakers get from the US Gov't to repair their war worn US/Canadian assembly plants?

How much money did US automakers get from the US Gov't to replace machinery that had to be moved outside...some of which rusted away?

NOTHING!

And they want us to do it again! From the Copenhagen "Global Warming" talks they want us to send billions to third world countries to help them with their emissions! while most of them are ruled by dictators that would keep the money for themselves!! But China and India don;t agree with emissions cutbacks!!

Oh boy, lemme see here -
That's four classes, at three to six hours setting up each poll, unless I get it to be streamlined as hell (and God help me if I mess up any details)

I think this is the part where I hang out the HELP WANTED sign!

Here's another little goody - What do we call each class? "Late Model" is an obvious one, how about the other three?

I tell ya what - someone step up to the plate for the 57 - 60 class and there'll be one. I don't see how I can stretch myself that thin, so count on 56/57 and 96/97 as the cutoffs.

you guys totally missed the most important break at '98-99 for the superduty, the 80-98 had the same body, and the '97 & up f150 is really just a formality diverging from the normal truck line imo, and is in its own class.
