Has this ever happened to you?

I spent all weekend painting my truck. Looks sweet. Walk outside today to find a big puddle of antifreeze under it. I guess water pump I haven't looked real closely yet. That's just how my luck goes I give my truck a present and it pukes on me.

Changing the water pump is easy, just make sure you use the bleeder on the t-stat housing to get the air out of the cooling system. Are you sure the pump is bad? The hose behind the pump has been known to give problems. Its the black pipe on the right.

I'm not sure what has failed yet. The antifreeze is leaking down the block and dripping off behind the harmonic balancer. I'll try to get motivated enough today to fix it.

hardest part of changing the pump is getting to it. i remove the intake horn, take the fan loose and push it into the shroud and tied it there. remove the fan belt, then the 4 pump bolts. mine was corroded into the housing. It has a o-ring seal, not a gasket. you got to pry side to side or use a wedge in the back to start it moving. clean the hole good where the new o-ring will seat.
