Engine swap 86 302 to 80 351m

I have an engine from an 80 f150, 351m that I am putting in my 86 f150 that had a 302. I have found most of my parts, but am havin trouble with the oil dipstick. I can not find anywhere on the block or timing cover for is to mount. There is no mounting hole on the block or on the timing cover. Was the dipstick possibly originally on the oil pan and the pan swapped at one point, or am I screwed? HELP!!!

I'm confused... All the M-blocks I've seen in trucks have the oil dipstick in the side of the oil
pan (driver's side, rear-sump pan). When in a car, the dipstick is generally in the block;
looking at the vehicle/engine from the front, the hole is down near the water pump inlet tube
on the LH side, just left and in front of the thermostat housing. IIRC the hole is down in a
recessed area, near the water pump. When the engine is installed in trucks, a plug is
installed in that hole.
