88 F250 4x4 7 lug bolt pattern ?
Last winter I bought a good old work horse. However I am curious, This F250 custom has a "7 bolt" lug pattern? Can anyone offer any answers as to why.

The only 7 lug trucks in existence are the 97-03 F250LD/F150 7700, your 88 is 8x6.5. For some reason hubcaps with 7 lugs are out there though.

Thanks for the response. When I get home tonight I am going to take a closer look. I could have sworn I have chrome lugnuts sticking through gray plastice caps?

There are, but they're FAKE.
They are just for decoration on the wheel cover.

i have run across an older model ( dont remember the exact one but it was def in the late 80-early 90's) 7 lug truck before at the parts store. it was a canadian model. i think it was a f150 though. not sure bout the 250's.

You aren't the first person to be fooled by the fake 7-lug hubcaps. I have no idea why Ford would do this except to confuse people.
wolfsmurf, no Ford truck of that era came with 7-lug axles. Not even in Canada.

Any idea why Ford made 7 lug wheels on the F150 7700's at all? What a goofy deal.

I understand that they didn't want to get all chevy up in here and go with 6 but pick 5 or 8, don't make it weird Ford, don't make it weird...
