DT466 Injectors

would dt466 injectors work in PSD, im sure there would be some custom turnes, but the 466 squirters are much cheaper and im sure they flow more than stock psd injectors. any ideas

Nope. They aren't a HUEI injection system. Unless the newer ones are different, but on our old combine with the 466, it has the rotary style injection pump.

That's strange -- I just bought a kit for an HPOP rebuild for a DT466.

But I'm not sure which injectors that engine takes -- I know you can get "B-Codes", which are out of a DT530. They take A LOT of oil though. You would need big oil to run 'em.

Or do what I did -- hybrids. B-code innards in an A-code single shot injector. They use a lot less oil than even stock sticks, and run like a raped-ape in our trucks.

There are 2 different kinds of 466 injectors, DT466 and DT466E. The DT466E use the same body as the T444E. Here are some pics.

Just found a little info, 466 injectors flow 285cc and dt530's flow 300cc, they are the same body. I would like to run bigger injectors but dont have 2k to drop into injectors, these could be much cheaper, found 6 on ebay for $749, would just need 2 more

Do you plan on upgrading the turbo, getting custom programming etc? Because that is way more fuel than you need unless you plan on going BIG. There are a couple guys that come to mind like PowerstrokeJunkie and Strokin that both have big injectors in the 250cc-300cc and they could help you with the real life experience on these.

Depending on how large you want to go a set of stage 1's or stage 2's would have a big difference for you. Plus the stage 1's just came down in price. Don't want to discourage you.

You would need the $$$ for the injectors, *and* more for big oil. Like another $2k. Cheaper to get hybrids in the long run...

LOL!!! So how do they feel, Otto? Stage 1s aren't quite as dramatic as some of the larger sticks, but it's still a nice improvement.

When i started thinking of this i had no idea that the DT engines fueled that much more than the psd, i knew it would be more but was suprised when i learned they flowed that much, all i was lookin for was something to give me a little more power, like the stage I's, those sound like squirters i'll be interested in, Im pullin the motor out this weekend to do injector cups, i got fuel in my coolant....yeah that sucks, gonna do injector o rings, put a new oil pan on, rear main seal, turbo o rings, and a few other little things, i found those 466 injectors on ebay for 749 for six if anyone is interested.... thanks all and to riffraff nice site, ill be callin ya soon for some little sticks...

They feel great. A BIG IMPROVEMENT especially with Beans Diesel Performance - 7.3 Power Stroke IDM Modification (Powered by CubeCart)

the improvement was so dramatic I had to put my PPE Standard in the DMAX to Level 3 so it would "feel " faster. LOL

JEEZ- $100 to do an IDM mod? Damn, maybe I'll start charging only $60 to do it...... You'd think a company like Beans would be more reasonable for a what, 1 hour job??
