Ok, I am doing the oil pan on my 93 f 250 351 4wd. I need a new pan and gasket and am going to do the oil pump while i am in there. Looking on Rock Auto for parts, do i need a "oil pump intermediate shaft" or "oil pump screen?" If they are worth changing while I am under there then i will, they are cheap. any help is appreciated, thanks fellas

 

A new pump should come with a new screen. Definitely replace it. I don't think you'll need a shaft unless yours is broken.

 

So does the screen and the pump one piece? i have never done this fix before, thanks

 

I would say most of the time, a new pump will come with a new screen.
