Got my new truck! 2000 F350 CC 4x4 DRW Lariat LE

Well guys picked up my new truck yesterday and absolutely love it so far... much of an upgrade from my 77' F150 4x4... However it'll have to do some amazing things to live up to that trucks reputation. Its so comfy have logged 130 some miles in it since yesterday morning.. don't want to get out of it.. lol.. However got a question for all of you... the passenger side running board lights do not work, nor do the passenger side door locks front and rear... I don't have a owners manual so i dunno if there are separate fuses for these? thanks for the help and I'll have pics up sometime soon...!!!!

I would pull the connection for the door locks and clean them out. Here is how to take the door panels off. LINK You only need to do the 2nd pic in the link.

Congrats on the new ride. It should give you many years of pleasure if you treat her right. We need pics.

Did you check the bulbs in the running board?

If all of them are out it could be a short we had that on a 1997 F-250 my dad had. Just trace the wires and you'll be fine as for the door locks listen to Chris.

Well upon more investigation I found that the drivers door is the only door lock functioning. It doesn't matter which lock button u use, the others try ever so slightly but don't move position.... They can be moved manually.. Checked bulbs, connectors and wiring I could easily see... Everything checked out... Again that's only on the passenger side running board... Pics will be up when I get home from work... Roughly 8 hours from now..... (posting from black berrry.) p.s. Also checked both lock switch connectors.

If they try to move then you will probably just need to pull the door panels off and lube the mechanism. You can also spray wd-40 directly in the latch on the side of the door, but it can get messy.

Congrats on your new truck.

Instead of WD40, try GDL - Garage Door Lubricant. It "dries" but whatever leaks out on to the door surface from your spray-job, wipe it off quick.

I'm afraid the real culprit for your inoperative door locks is the faulty design. It only works a few years before needing replacement.

Someone had a thread on here about doing it yourself instead of paying the 160 each for the new actuators. I had it in my bookmarks but apparently I deleted that folder of bookmarks... hmm.

Just run a search on doorlocks for the superduty and you'll find it.

Congrats on a fantastic purchase. That truck will never let you down if you treat it right.

Good luck!

Well got the running board lights working.... Apparently someone tore them off at some point and did a half @$$ed repair which corroded under their electric tape job... But its all good now... Didn't get to the locks as I can't search with my phone... But all in good time... :-) I can't keep from looking at it long enough for someone to have the time to steal it anyway so who needs locks... Lol
