prisoner of gravity is starting off with a positive reputation.
'94 7.3 NA 4wd CC, barely running...

hi guys, the truck in the subject line followed me home. 330,000 km on it but body is excellent by southern Ontario standards. Starts easily but LOTS of white smoke and after a minute or two it dies. Seems like it is being overfueled??? Where do I start? Replace injectors? Replace IP? Both? I have no service history on this truck but injectors and lines do not look like they have been disturbed this decade.
Any recommendations on a reliable source for injectors and IP in southern Ontario? Nothing fancy, just stock spec and hopefully from a source I can trust. I'm near Peterborough.
This truck deserves a second chance...

No responses? I can't help you with diesel issues but I was hoping to learn something.
Try the diesel forums and let us know how you make out.

Red Ford Truck is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Take it into Moynes in Lindsey.

I would suggest you take it into Moynes in Lindsey(great folks to deal with), and they specialize in Ford Trucks.

Get them to pull the codes before you start changing things, it could end up being something simple, or you may be able to just pick their brains for some advice.

Or hit the diesel forum as Frank suggests.

Either way good luck.

Rick.

Hi, I only just moved to Ottawa. I have a '97 TDI, and it does sound like its too much fuel, or maybe the air filter is just that extremely clogged?

I would definitely post to your forum with the symptoms.

As for parts, I'm only just learning the Ottawa area. All I can say so far is thank goodness for NAPA, and thank goodness I haven't needed more than a starter and GPR.

Good luck, and keep in touch in the chapter.

I don't think the IDI's were brained, so no ODB
