Use whatever cab you want. Nothing's easier than using what's free.

I was told that it would be easier to use the chassis that the engine is already in and just do a body swap.

I was going to use a F250 crew cab truck but the crazy law here states I cant tow more than 2 tons with the truck.

SO I will try and look for the 73-79F600's and see what I can find. I am trying to stay away from the huge front grille section though. Kinda of like the 450/550 trucks. Still looks like a regular F350 and not the huge 650'/600.

There was a post on this forum with a f600 55/56 that looks pretty low and seems like a regular F350. It was on the hot rod F600. It look like it was used for a fifth wheel combo but it looked pretty cool to me. But the 55/56 want fit the engine I want.

never mind about f600's. A regular truck should work out for you.

No 70's FORD F600/ F700 / F7000 /F800 came out of the factory with TILT HOODS.

Maybe they are mislabeled.

In the picture below is a 1980 FORD 800 (just plain as that "800" and no F, L, LN model serial letter before the number) I think I have seen that emblem on older FORD 800 trucks.

The F-SERIES all use the same conventional cabs (dash panel change from pick-ups to trucks)

Think that the L, LN series was a departure for FORD from using the same cab on pick-ups and trucks.

Hey Numberdummy, do you know if I can get the OEM 73-79 f600 fender extensions too? I need one more.

Yes there is, well at least a custom made one.
