Fender Sizes

I found on Craigslist a "front fender for a "53 F100". According to the seller, the length of the wheel opening measures about 39" (at the bottom-most part of the wheel opening). The seller told me that she has fielded several calls regarding this fender, but callers say that they need a fender that measures 34". When I measure my own reproduction F-100 fender, I see that it is 34". Is the seller's fender meant for a larger F-series truck? I always thought that the fender sizes were the same.

Both fenders will physically fit the F-100/350 series trucks and are identical in overall size and shape. But there are two different wheel opening sizes to accommodate the larger/smaller tire options, 16" or 17+". Depending on which tire your truck was ordered with, the fender wheel opening would be chosen to fit. The choice was not series-dependent as on the earlier trucks.

I haven't measured the openings on my '50 F6, are they larger than the standard light duty trucks? They don't look larger, just higher because of the frame height.

Yes the f6 opening are larger than f1. Compare the lower front fender of yours to the lower fender of an f1 and you will see the difference.

F-2 thru 6 fenders are all the same and have much larger wheel openings than the F-1 trucks. The wheel arch goes about 3 inches higher than the center seam and is noticeable at the seam where the upper and lower fender sections meet.

I called about that fender a month ago and had them measure it. I told them it's not an f100 fender. Definitely a 250 or larger truck. She said she would update the post with the info and put the measurements on the listing. I guess she hasn't.

C = F1/F100 / D = F2/F250 / Y = F3/F350 / TL = F4 / T = F5/F500 / TH = F6/F600.
