Help Find Me This Truck!!!!!!

Hey I need help desperately lol. I live in Manitoba and I'm looking for an 80 to 86 F 150 with a GOOD BODY THAT RUNS AND DRIVES. I'd prefer a lariat or XLT but anything will do If anyone is close to or will deliver one here I would be interested in buying or trading for my 91 F 150 Lariat ext cab short box 4x4 >>>>

Umm, I thought that 87-91 truck had the 4x4 emblem under the driverside headlight if they were 4x4, EFI emblem if they were not? anybody know?

I agree with the other 2 posters, Why do you want an older truck when your looks that nice, and what is the emergency to get it?

I'd like to trade because

i prefer the 80-86 style much more over than the 87 to 91 stlye. My first truck was an 86 but it was stolen and wrecked and i have noty been able to find a decent one since. I have an 86 with a crate motor rebuilt diffs tranny and transfer case at home but i need a good body as it is very rough and there are quite a few 87-91 style trucks around my town but not many people have a nice example of a 80-86. I like to stand out lol, and my 91 now has mud tires on it.

Good question. You can pick up a whole front clip from the scrappers and put it on. You'll want EVERYTHING you can get, including the radiator support, light buckets, yada yada yada.

I also thought about that

...... but i like the 80s interiors better and i want to use my crate motor tranny and transfer case and i.m not a 100% sure on a EFI to carb swap. And i wanted to make it look like my first truck which was a reg cab long box. I'd like to have my 91 and a nice 86 too but I'm only 17 and I already have a few too many vehicles as it is. My First 86 was hit hard in front end so its not much good other than box and some mechganical stuff and my current 86 has a shot body thats why i want to trade. I'm in the autobody buisiness and before anyone suggest ordering new body panels i've already looked at that road lol. Lots of time and money haha

Honestly I dunno what you like about the '80s interior so much? Dash design sucks, and so do the seats. I love my '90 dash and seat, if I had an '80s truck I'd be swapping in an '87-'91 dash real quick! And I see you already got some nice seats in that '91... So I'll go ahead and jump on the front clip swap bandwagon. If the crate motor is the same displacement as your current one, just pull both engines and swap intakes and electrics over, then drop the crate engine with the EFI stuff back in the '91. Swap the transmission and trans case as well... Or just take your current cab and drop in on your '80s chassis, along with the EFI stuff from your '91 engine.

Virto, are you sure on the radiator support thing? I know the '92-'96 core support is different from the '87-'91, but I thought the '80-'86 support was the same as what he has now, just different grille, light assemblies, and filler panels?

I bought my truck three states away in Ashland, KY; and drove it home to Norfolk, VA. Bought it off Ebay. I would check there for a sweet truck.

Try posting an add on Craigslist. That keeps it local. Ebay is hit and miss. I am helping to restore a 1950 Chevy bought off eBay and it was too far away to go look at. It turned to have a bit more rust than advertised. We are now doing almost a ground up resto. While I might not agree on the year (I still miss my 1992 Diesel F-250), it is your truck. Hope you find one soon!
