Cruise control on my 08' Super Duty
I have a 08' superduty 250 5.4L with automatic, that does not have a factory cruise control (no keyfob but does have electric locks and windows.) Are there after market or OEM cruise controls that I can install myself? I wore out my right leg last week on a 6 hour trip..thanks ron

There are aftermarket and OEM cruise controls you can add on. I put an aftermarket one on a Geo Tracker I had one time and I added a OEM one to my 96 Bronco. They can be a real pain in the *** to install. I can't remember the brand of the one I installed on the Tracker but they had awesome customer service I spent most of the afternoon on the phone with one of their techs troubleshooting it.
The hardest part of the install is the wiring and figuring out which wire is which.
One DANGEROUS thing I ran into was the bracket I made to hold the throttle cable actuator was not strong enough the first time and when I set the cruise it stayed on even when I shut it off becasue the bracket bend toward the throttle and when I turned off the cruise it acted like a spring and kept the throttle open I had to pull over, shut off engine and disconnect it until I got home.
A few years ago Pep Boys had a deal where it was a set price for installation like $199 it would have been really worth it just to pay to have it put in.

No, there is not. There is nothing on the engine for a cruise control to connect to. Comparing this to a Geo Tracker is at best ridiculous.
You can add factory cruise control. Most likely all you need is a new center section for your steering wheel. A REALLY good parts counterperson can probably tell you exactly what you need.
The cruise on these trucks is really only a few switches on the steering wheel and some software in the PCM. All of the PCMs have the software, so all you need are the switches.

I had to replace that on my daughters car when I added cruise. (along with the wheel itself of course)..and some mechanical parts to pull the throttle.

I have an '09 XL CC that did not come with cruise. I ordered a new steering wheel from Ford along with the switch already installed for about $295. You could also order the same thing from here Cruise Control Store for $325 + shipping. I got a bit of a discount because of the new truck purchase. I've yet to install mine but it should be fairly straight forward and then a flash from the dealer and I'll be good to go.

All you need is the steering wheel with the cruise switch like the one pictured in the link. Then the dealer will have to reprogram the PCM. Your truck came pre-wired for cruise.
