So I got my thin side trim from grinnergetter, huge props out to him! Got the cab pieces on and I'm talking to a master welder to have the rears shortened. This is ultra cool stuff. Thanks again everybody!

PS. I hate the new mobile version >

Man, that looks gooooooooooooood! Is the welder just going to cut the bed trim down and then cap it off with aluminum? I'm curious as to how it'll be done, as I am going to be doing something similar. I have normal trim from a long bed, but am cutting it so it will fit my short bed and need to figure out a way to cap off the end that I cut off.

The idea is to cut a section from the middle towards the front then low heat weld the factory end back on. Then blend the weld in polish to a high shine. Not sure if it will work. Ill let you know.

There is an easier option than slicing in the middle. I would cut the end and just fabricate a new end cap. Its an easier weld in my opinion, and easier to blend back in with the molding. To slice a chunk out and weld back together, without distortion takes patience. Its very easy to get high and low spots on either side of the weld. My father is an expert tig welder in aluminum and stainless and this is his preferred method when doing this.
