1994 can be either a PSD or a Turbo IDI engine. They changed 1994 1/2.

The 8th digit in the VIN will tell.

vin F is the powerstroke
vin K is turbo IDI
vin M is non-turbo IDI

200K isn't a lot of miles for the engine. They can go well past 400K with proper maintenance.
It's all the other things that can nickel and dime you to death on the stuff you expect to find on a 15+ year old truck...Auto trannies are a weak link in an otherwise bullet proof drive line, even with proper maint.
If you have a choice get a stick shift.
5K seems like a fair price but I would crawl all over it before you decide. Here's a link to used truck buying guide one of our FTE brothers came up with, it's for a newer body style but most of it pertains to our trucks too.

Get pictures. How much are they asking? Is is close to you? If not perhaps another member can take a look at it for you. With proper maintanence it should be fine at 244K.
Somebody else is also looking at trucks. Try this link, it has a lot of good questions for the seller.
