2001 Ford F-150 - 6 cylinder truck. When I fully depress the gas pedal it sticks down. I have to kill the engine and pull over. AS soon as the engine turns off the gas pedal comes back up and it only happens when I floor it (driving on freeway ect). Can you help? Much appreciated. Cole
Should be on the side of the Throttle body, around the throttle plate shaft.Also...The Throttle body "innards" can get gummed up causing the throttle plate to get stuck...
Check the throttle body spring and make sure it is still there. You can also try disconnecting the cruise control throttle cable and see if it is indeed the cruise control for whatever reason. I have a feeling that it is the throttle return spring though.
