Window channel before or after paint?

I need all new window channel / guides in the doors.
The truck is still in primer but I'm thinkin I should Install
these now before paint because I'm afraid of scratching
the good paint. Good or bad idea?

Bad idea , do them after paint as you will be able to get paint in there better and a much nicer job , also you won't have to mask them up and worry about painting them .

Paint first. But let it dry for a good two or three weeks before working around it.

I would paint it first, let it dry for a couple weeks and then apply masking tape over the paint where you are working. The tape will protect the paint from scratches. Just remove the tape slowly and gently when you are done. I have done this a few times and it works great.

I would definately cut and fit all your channels and glass BEFORE you paint! I just went thru this........trying to fit after painting, not good. plus, the repop channel is junk IMO, I ended up getting mine from a glass shop. Ideally, fit channel and glass, then remove to paint. On a truck with as many mods as yours, I'd want to make sure everything fits first. T/M

I think he was asking for post fitting final assembly guidance.. before or after paint.

do it after.. use tape to protect surfaces during final installation..
