f250 amp wiring question

This is one for all you out there that have added an amp to your f250 system....

how and where did you bring your power wire into the cab?

I'm struggling with whether I need to drill through my firewall or whether there is a pre-existing hole that I can simply cut the rubber gromet and feed the wire through. Oh yea, its 4awg wire...

Thanks for the help guys

I drilled a hole into my firewall near where the factory harness comes into the truck (make sure you use a grommet or what I did was taped up the wire where it rests on the hole). But, there is a drain hole or something on the floor (under the carpet) of the cab on the passenger side. Just a few ideas. I got 2 10's and an amp.

The 99-04 should have a gromet in place, I think it was for the clutch master cylinder. I drilled out the plastic and ran my wire through that. I have a single 4ga and several other 16-8ga wires in this cover.

Unfortunately I have a 6 speed manual Transmission so I dont believe I can do what you did reAX, Probably just gonna drill a hole in the firewall and use a rubber grommet to go around teh wire

Since you have to drill, if you have a gas motor, go somewhere on the pass side to keep the wire run short. With my crew cab going from the RF battery mount to the drivers firewall and to the back of my crew cab, it took 28' of wire which isn't cheap in the big stuff. You could probably cut 6-10ft off that by going from the battery down the right side and into the cab.

If you have a diesel, the dual batteries negate that. Just tap into the driver side battery and run the wire back.
