5R110 (Torqueshift) Slipping

Hello all,
Just today my 05 F250 with the 5R110 Torqueshift (I think?) began to act funny. When I would take off from a stop, the transmission would feel like it's slipping for a brief moment, then continue on its way. It only happens in first gear but gives quite a jerk when it kicks in.

I drove the truck again later, but it wasn't doing it any more. Then, I was driving another time, it started again.

Any ideas what it could be? I check the fluid level and it was full with bright pink fluid.

Thanks,
William

How many miles on it?

How many miles since your last service?

Is there any codes?

I am just wondering about what the computer is telling the tranny and converter?? If your filter is plged, that Torqueshift should have an inline filter, it will do funnt things I have heard.

It's got 135k right now, I've owned it since 133. I have no service records. The dealer said they changed the engine oil, that was it.

I just got an SCT livewire so let's see what it says:
P0403
P0405
P0675
Yesterday I remember seeing P0000, but it's not showing up anymore.
I do not have a tune on the vehicle, but I have the ERG valve unplugged.

Thank you,
William

I am wondering if somebody changed the tranny oil and never did the inline filter??? I am not sure of the codes, selnoid?? your going to have to check them. My truck has its filter (inline) and pan... on the right side just behind the radiator is the inline one. It (the filter) looks like a roll of toilet paper, it is inside a cartridge. I was told if that plugs up, the tranny doesnt get the preasure and will act all funny.

The inline one is supposed to be done every 35000 miles. My fluid was pink but my filter was black, at 35000 miles.

Gotch ya. Is there a place around here were most people buy their filters/fluid from?

And why would you unplug your EGR valve?

I remember reading a thread that said this would help prevent future EGR problems. And possibly increase fuel economy by not using "recycled" air.

Dieselfiltersonline.com is a good source for filters and Mercon SP fluid for the torqshift. When getting the inline filter, get the NTZ filter. NTZ is the OEM for the filter assy and their filter is repackaged by Motorcraft as the FT-145. You'll save some jack by getting the NTZ.

Also, depending on what those codes mean, you might want to get a tranny flush and make sure the correct spec fluid is in the tranny. Anything other than SP could mean trouble and not knowing the maint history it's probably not a bad idea anyway.

I remember seeing a bulletin about the pressure control solenoid having issues, causing slippage, banging, and eventually trans failure. Drop in line pressure causes engagement issues. Eventually it will catch but not as expected.

The first two codes are for the EGR valve being unplugged, the last one is cylinder 5 glow plug fault.

Here are the meaning of the codes:

Code P0403 - EGR Circuit Malfunction
Code P0405 - EGR Sensor A Circuit Low Input
Code P0765 - Shift Solenoid D Malfunction or Transmission system problems

I did not see Code P0675 listed...

Furian 765 makes more sense if he's having trans issues, but as you can see that wasn't what he posted.

The code is in fact 675, not 765. Part of me wishes it was 765 so I could know for sure what was acting up with the trans.

I don't mean to hijack my own thread, but does that code mean I need a new glow plug in cylinder 5?
