Supercharger, choosing drive ratio?

How does one go about choosing an initial drive ratio for a supercharger setup?

I have an Eaton M90 that needs to spin at 8500 RPM to meet my required air flow and pressure ratio.

Do I select the drive ratio so that the SC is spinning 8500 RPM at redline, or should it be at 8500 where I want the boost, making sure not to overspeed the SC at redline?
